What do you mean by 'Open World Rps' vs 'Rps with plot?'
Open world rps would be a setting with a conflict or something happening. Dystopian, zombie apocalypse, war, cafe, ect. There is a setting, with a world and rules, but beyond characters interacting with each other and causing things, there is no driving force that moves the rp.
Rps with plot are ones that automatically give the characters a goal. We want to overthrow the dystopain government, we want to find why the apocalypse started and how to end it, we want to win this war, we want to rob this cafe, ect. The one who makes it usually has some idea of what they want to happen, where they want to go, and the driving causes behind what is going on.
How do I say I want to roleplay with just ____?
When creating your rp thread, just put somewhere in the title 'CLOSED.' You can put the names of the people you want to roleplay with in the first post of the thread before starting your posts.
Is there a posting order?
I'm going to say yes. For the sake of people who may be able to get on at only certain times of the day, PLEASE wait for them. It makes it a lot easier and less worrying if they're going to be skipped. It also allows people time to write thought out posts without fear of having to change it if someone posts before them.
If you don't have anything you can post and it's your turn, it's as easy as saying ((I skip my turn)) for your post.
I want to make an open world roleplay
Awesome! Once you have your world/city/location information up, and we think it all checks out, then we will make a sub-forum in the Open World RPs board for your world. Just send me a message if I'm a bit slow on the upkeep.
Are bios strictly writing?
Nope. There will be some things to write out, like personality or an explanation of powers. But you can draw a picture of your character and upload that.
What are Free World RPs?
Verbruiik brought it to me that people might have a character they want to develop, but lack a world or a lot of understanding of them. You can just make a post, and see where the roleplay goes from there. You don't have to have a character bio to post here. It's for fleshing out characters, if you want, or just picking up roleplays without a distinct setting. It can totally develop into a story.
Is there a posting limit?
In some roleplays, it's implied. If someone is writing a long post, it's usually seen best to reply with a long post as well. This is a forum with a posting order, meaning you have time to think about what to write and how your characters will react. Minimum word counts can be posted in the beginning on the roleplay, if there is one.
