Is there any magic in this world, or is the only supernatural aspect the gem-eaters? :0 Also, what do gem-eaters look like? From what I could tell on your post, they definitely have gem teeth. But, is their outward appearance similar to the normfolk, or do they have a more rock-like appearance (in my head I imagine a semi-golem type humanoid creature)? So in turn would it make them harder to pin down as gem-eaters at first glace if their mouths remained shut and no one saw their teeth?
Sorry for the slew of questions! I know you're still working on the finer details of this world, and it's still forming in your head. If you don't quite know the answers yet, I totally understand! I just really enjoyed reading your posts on this world, and it sounds super interesting. oAo I may join in soon~ :0

Ah ha! Very nice, I really like those ideas. And that's super cool you're working with an artist to help develop these things! I can't wait to see what the finished concept art will look like!! oAo
Thank you for clearing that up for me~ ^ ^ Metal powers for the Wardens, huh? I can totally see other, perhaps more unknown races, showing up and using some form of earth-y element as part of their "power". All I can think of off the top of my own head is lava. But I don't even know how that could be utilized in any way short of being a "lava-bender" as par Avatar. :B

Either way, I'll brainstorm a character up and will probably be joining you soon ;D
Ah, another question that popped up in my head just as I was about to hit post: Can gem-eaters and normfolk reproduce with the other? Half-gems? Though I imagine, as the gem-folk were hunted down by the Wardens, that would be hella forbidden if it's even possible, and very super rare.

What kind of technology/advances does this world have? I'm getting a sense it's still a bit primitive but I could be wrong. Perhaps they have some form of steam power or early technological advances, or do they use or rely on metal for some kind of way to power or make things easier since the wardens can use metal in a special way?
