Role play type: Roleplay with Plot
In a far off kingdom, nestled within the quiet remains of an old volcano, sits the Kingdom of Carinath. The volcano juts out of the ocean, and sits far from the mainland, which is not known to the people of Carinath. To them, Carinath is all there was and all there is. They are isolated, and those who have left their kingdom to explore the world have yet to return.
In this kingdom, birds are sacred beings, and each citizen of the land is bonded to a bird at the age of 14. Once bonded, they will usually decide on a life path based on the majority of others bonded to the same type of bird. However, sometimes a bond will not last a person's entire lifetime, and they will become re-bonded with a new bird. This may or may not change their life choice/path, and the person is usually free to change if they wish it. It is not seen as weak or as giving up if they form a new bond and change their path in their society. Again, it is not very common for this to happen, so it does not usually disrupt the flow and order of their society.
Only once in a very, very long time, someone will be born with the ability to mentally speak with birds. It hasn't happened in such a long time, that most citizens have forgotten about this rare ability. However, those in the ruling class still remember and keep records of all Saghs (those with the ability are granted the title of Sagh). In this current generation, there is one Sagh, though they have yet to tell anyone of their ability as they have not seen the need or importance of telling anyone expect their closest friend and their mother.

Peace has only been known in this kingdom, as conflict was a thing of the far off past. As such, there is not a large military force present, though there is a small group of warriors just in case. Some protect the royal family, while others help maintain peace in the city's taverns and patrol the streets to make sure things stay safe. However, not much usually happens, so the warriors are often bored and will go off hunting in the wilds to test and hone their abilities.
There is limited magic in this world, as the telepathic communication with birds is one of them. Most magic has been lost generations ago, but some still retain a little hint of abilities of what once was. Magic in this world is limited to basic telekinesis of small, lightweight objects as well as some ability to control the winds. If a group of magic users get together, they can influence the weather by using the wind to have rain clouds dissipate, or blow in clouds to shield them from the sun. However, on their own, one magic user is only able to control enough wind to be able to knock a person of medium build over. There are a few windmills in this kingdom that help power the mills, and some of the magic users will rotate and help blow the blades of the mills each day.
There are rumors of artifacts beyond the high cliffs of the volcano protecting this kingdom that can amplify magic and perhaps provide new abilities, but those are mostly seen as fables and fictitious. Some artifacts may be hidden beneath the oceans, some in caves in the cliffs of their island, and others may be on the mainland, scattered throughout. \
