Kaiden leaned against a small brick wall, brushing her bangs behind her ear as a cool breeze drifted by. It was getting on to fall, and the hot summer days were quickly coming to an end. A sigh escaped her mouth. She would miss the heat. The cold meant having to buy new uniforms, and Kaiden did not have that kind of money.
With a quiet hup, she pulled herself into a sitting position on the wall and kicked her feet. Agana should be out of class soon. What was her last class again? Chemistry? If it was, maybe she was getting lectured about her matches or proper Bunsen burner use. Kaiden chuckled quietly. High school was going to be an interesting year. And Kaiden already had plans on bringing over the LGBT+ group. Maybe there would be more people here who would get involved. But at least she knew she had Troi and Kerin who would come to meetings.
Kaiden glanced down the path towards the school classroom buildings. Where was Agana? What was taking so long?

Agana shifted uncomfortably on her feet. Being lectured by Mr. Rachburg was annoying as hell, and she just wished it could all be over. She also wished she could just yell at his face to go away, but that would mean she would be sent off to Miss. Rook, and she wanted to avoid that creepy lady for as long as she could.
"This is the LAST time I will tolerate you bringing matches to this school! I know your track record from your previous school, young lady. Matches in the classroom are dangerous, and I don't know what your parents have taught you, but it is NOT acceptable in this facility!" He rubbed his fingers on his temples, annoyed that he had to lecture this student for the third time this week about the hazards of the chem lab, but he hoped that at least this time around she got the point.
"If I catch you playing with your matches or lighters again, I will personally escort you to Miss Rook and she will deal with you. Am I clear?" His gaze bore into Agana's eyes, and she lowered her head, trying to keep her anger and composure in check. She did not want to get suspended for hitting a teacher so early in the year.
"...yes." she mumbled.
"Then you're dismissed."
And with that, he unceremoniously waved Agana away and slumped down into his desk chair, picking up papers to grade in hopes that it would distract him from the headache that had formed.
Agana gritted her teeth in annoyance, fingers twitching and itching to light the match that she was fiddling with in her jacket pocket. Her head still down, she slunk out of the classroom, beyond irritated at what happened. She only lit ONE match today, just ONE! And they weren't even dealing with dangerous chemicals that day.
Agana left the science building, and started down the path towards the track field. Her frustration was overwhelming, and she couldn't wait to get out on the field, light some of her matches, and just run for a little while.
Further down the path, she finally noticed Kaiden sitting against the wall, waiting it seemed for her.
Agana didn't say anything, and just reached out her hand towards Kaiden, offering to help her up.

Kaiden was humming to herself when Agana approached. With a smile, she took the other girl's hand and hefted herself to her feet. "Hello, hello," she said, smoothing out her skirt and dusting the dirt off it. "I assume everything went all right, since you're here and not in detention?"
They were a strange pair, Kaiden thought, but there wee stranger. Agana was volatile, temperamental, and as fiery - if not more so - than those matches she loved to light, while Kaiden was calm as the sea on a bright, sunny day. But they complimented each other nicely. And Kaiden was drawn to the other's friendship. It was energizing, being around her. Even if it did land them in trouble every now and then.
"To track try-outs now?" She asked, gentle smile still on her face.
